About
Maori Arts Gallery is a Maori-owned family business run by Bill and Anne Rawiri on Wellington’s waterfront, by Frank Kitts Park. Bill is a bone carver of Ngapuhi descent and Anne, of Ngati Whatua and Te Rarawa descent, weaves korowai (cloaks); together they started out selling taonga at local markets and from a small shop at home for over 20 years before opening the harbourside gallery. Pounamu is sold alongside bone carving, weaving and other Maori arts and crafts.
