Description

West Coast pounamu carver based in Greymouth, creating authentic handcrafted jade pendants and taonga inspired by traditional Māori design and locally sourced greenstone.

''My name is Garth Wilson. My family connections with carving pounamu (Jade, greenstone) go back hundreds of years to the Maori tribes Ngati Mahaki and Ngati Waewae who were the original traders of pounamu (Jade) here on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand.  Because of these family connections I have special customary rights to gather my own Pounamu (jade) from the local rivers and mountains.''
