One of New Zealand's most celebrated pounamu carving destinations, The Stone Studio has been handcrafting authentic nephrite jade taonga on Stanley Road in Gisborne since 1997. Founded by master carver Ewan Parker and now led by son Guy Parker, the studio offers visitors a rare and intimate experience, a long workshop window lets you watch carvers transform colossal blocks of West Coast pounamu into one of a kind pendants, sculptures, and jewellery. Every piece is individually handcrafted using only genuine New Zealand nephrite jade, with designs inspired by nature, Māori culture, and the stone itself.
