Te Kauwhata Greenstone Shop

Te Kauwhata Greenstone Shop is a long-established pounamu shop on Wayside Road in Te Kauwhata, northern Waikato, run by Pounamu Taonga Ltd. It has become a regular stop for travellers heading between Auckland and the rest of the North Island, with many returning customers who call in on each trip north or south.

The shop specialises in pounamu taonga, with a wide range of carved pendants and pieces to suit different budgets, alongside other Māori souvenirs. Staff are known for friendly, helpful service when choosing a piece, whether it is a gift or something to mark a special occasion.

The shop does not sell online, so everything is available in store only. It is open Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays and public holidays.
